Linziyu Lu is a Chinese illustrator based in Queens, New York City. She studied engineering for her undergraduate degree before earning an MFA in illustration from Syracuse University. She specializes in picture books, packaging design and editorial illustration. She finds inspiration in the beauty of nature and the cultures of various places. She is also an avid fan of musical theatre, particularly French productions. Her favorite subjects to draw are birds (especially owls), food, and landscapes. Her work features a unique blend of organized, flat design and rich textures. In addition to her illustration skills, Linziyu excels in cooking—possibly due to her years of lab experience—and various crafts, including printmaking, sculpture, wool felting, sewing, and paper carving. She has a dream of traveling around the world, and to space if possible.
