Dave Szalay is an award-winning illustrator/designer, a writer, and full-time college professor. Dave has illustrated several books and loves stories of history and culture, as much as fantasy and folklore. He also enjoys editorial illustration for healthcare, science, and technology.

He and his wife Krista, with their cat Luna, live along a quiet stream surrounded by woods and wildlife near the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Their two sons live nearby with their growing families including 3 grandkids.

He is represented by The CAT Agency. Szalay has been awarded at the SCBWI-national, the American Ad Awards, 3 x 3, Creative Quarterly, and the Ohio Arts Council.
