Connie Jaio Wong is a background artist and painter in animation from Titmouse, Warner Brothers, Disney TV, DisneyToon, Dreamworks, and Sony Pictures. Connie’s course is an introduction to digital painting and color composition through the use of Adobe Photoshop. The class focuses on digital painting techniques to create a representational image. Students will learn about visual communication through demonstrations, film studies, examples of master works, class assignments and in-class exercises. (see below for payment link)
Topics covered include: organizing values, creating volumetric lighting, material indication, use of textures, custom brushes, composition, color theory, and perspective. Assignments are designed to help students gain familiarity with Photoshop and the tools most commonly used in a typical workflow. Processes taught can be applied to illustration, film, animation, and video games.
NOTE: computer, cintiq/tablet, and Adobe Photoshop are recommended for the class.
