Do you have an idea for a character for your comic or your story? This 10 week class will cover the fundamentals of designing characters. We will look into what makes a good character though gesture and building on personality archetypes. The class will cover basic design principles, with an emphasis on story to create compelling characters as well as covering drawing fundamentals. In this course, students will experience exploration, pushing and refining designs to final production ready characters.

Ron Velasco is a character designer currently working at Disney Television. He is an illustrator and designer who has worked in companies such as Disney Television, Disney Toons Studies, Warner Brothers, Nickelodean as well as Disney Consumer Products.
