This weeks member spotlight is Giovannina Colalillo!
Giovannina Colalillo is a Toronto-born artist and Ontario College of Art and Design University (OCADU) graduate. She developed a unique painting style with Caran d’Ache’s Neocolor II Aquarelle water-soluble wax pastels to produce truly remarkable results with vivid colours energetic fluid styles and dynamic concepts. For her quick fresh line style she utilizes an ink dry brush technique overlaid with splashes of colour washes. She continually combines and experiments with traditional and digital mediums.
Sharing her enthusiasm and passion for art through programmes and workshops provides her with the opportunity to give back to the art community. Especially rewarding is the Arts Infused Learning approach to learning helping students engage with the school curriculum by communicating their understanding through visual art.
Her award-winning images have been featured worldwide in a variety of commissions. Editorial publications include Cosmopolitan Magazine Forbes Magazine and The Wall Street Journal. In book publishing some of the books she has illustrated are Heads or Tails? by Rigby Books Smoke! by Cengage and Teach Me Torah by Behrman House. In addition she has produced advertisements and promotions for Ameritech Kellogg’s Manulife Financial Mobil Exxon Oil and Visa among others.
Giovannina relishes each project as a journey into an intriguing new adventure to create vivid dynamic expressive art.
