Carol Heyer

CAROL HEYER is a full time illustrator and writer. Before beginning her freelance career Heyer worked for a movie production company as production designer and writer of feature films. Heyer has written/illustrated thirty-two children’s picture books. Her most recent book is titled “Mother Earth’s Lullaby”. Heyer’s art has appeared on everything from book covers to bookmarks. She has done work for, DISNEY, READER’S DIGEST, WIZARDS OF THE COAST, Ray Bradbury, SCHOLASTIC, PENGUIN PUTNAM/Henry Winkler, Doreen Virtue, and many others. Heyer graduated from CALIFORNIA LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY with departmental honors. She has won awards from Spectrum, The International Competition for Fantastic Art, Print’s Regional Design Annual, The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, and The Society of Illustrators LA. Her biography is included in WHO’S WHO IN AMERICA, CONTEMPORARY AUTHORS, etc.

I work in acrylic paints on canvas using a drybrush technique I’ve developed. I specialize in children’s art and fantasy. I especially love fantasy, because you can create any world you like and no one can tell you your dragon is wrong!
