Esther Pearl Watson grew up in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Her paintings of scenes based on her eccentric upbringing in a household that included a father who built flying machines in the front yard have been exhibited widely including at the Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth, the Oakland Museum of California and Webb Gallery in Texas.  UNLOVABLE, a graphic novel she has written and illustrated for over 10 years is based on a diary she found in a gas station bathroom and is published by Fantagraphics and also appears regularly in BUST magazine.
