Carrie Hartman graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art & Design with her degree in Illustration. She is an illustrator, author, adjunct professor and lecturer. Her illustration work includes: editorial, children’s books and book illustration, character development, advertising, posters, greeting cards, comic books, stationary, surface design and animation projects.

She is a member of the design faculty at MCAD, teaching in the illustration department. Some of clients have been: American Baby, Seattle Monthly, Midwest Living, Thread, AAA Travel Magazine, Minneapolis Star Tribune, St. Louis Magazine, The Rake, New York Dog, the Baltimore Sun. American Greetings, Target, ING, Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, Nature Made, Ocean Spray, 5th Avenue Financial, Office Depot, Sterling Publishing, Innovative Kids, HGTV, Joanns, Minnesota Historical Society Press, VocaliD, Encyclopedia Britannica, American Red , BlueCross BlueShield Insurance, Key Porter Books, RLD Group, Gartner Studios, Paper Salon, and more.

Carrie has received several illustration awards from the Los Angeles Society of Illustrators, the Association of Educational Publishers (AEP) award for the best illustrated children˙s book, a Webby Award, recognition from the Educational Press Association and more.
