Isabella Kung was born and raised in Hong Kong. Growing up, she always had a great passion for drawing and reading, often spending hours prowling through the library as her mother ran errands. Seeking a better education and new adventures, she traveled to the United States with nothing more than two full suitcases and eventually settling down in the beautiful city of San Francisco.
There, she graduated from the Academy of Art University with a BFA in illustration, where she was a three-time Spring Show Finalist and two-time Society of Illustrator Finalist.
Her ever-growing love for fun and fantastical stories with charming characters gravitated her towards the world of Children's book. She has since illustrated six Picture Books, two album covers, and a set of emoji for smartphones and tablets just to name a few. Her work has recently received two Honorable Mentions in 3x3 Magazine Picture Book Show and Runner-up in Creative Quarterly.
In addition to being a freelance illustrator, Isabella is also an Adjunct Instructor and Tutor at the Academy, teaching Illustration and Watercolor to the next generation of young artists. When she isn't working, you can find her doodling in her sketchbook or cuddling up with her two fluffy cats and one wonderful husband indulging in their favorite shows.
