Comic-Con! July 20 – July 24, 2016 Booth 1614

The Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles and Pop Secret Gallery have teamed up for what is sure to be a momentous display of pure  A W E S O M E!
This year we jumped on the opportunity to expand our booth. In prior years we made the most of a 10×10 booth. This year we’re working with a space the size of 10 x 30. Not to worry, we’re still front and center in the main exhibit hall – just moved a few aisles over – from booth #2616 to booth #1614.

Here’s a bit of what we have planned:

Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles:

  • Live recordings of the SILA podcast with Producer/Co-Hosts Santosh Oommen & Scott Gandell
  • Special guest signings & appearances with the pros!
  • Digital & traditional art demonstrations!
  • Slideshow of our members’ work on the big screen.
  • Members only discounts on books for those attending.
  • Volunteer* opportunity for members attending
  • Panel presentation (From Storyboarding to Comics and Back Again) scheduled for Saturday, July 23rd 1pm – 2pm Room 9

WANT TO VOLUNTEER FOR THE BOOTH? (SILA Members Only)

*To participate as a volunteer in the SILA booth, you:

#1)  Must be a current paid member of SILA.  Please email or call Alyce at the Society office to double check. 800-799-6368 info@si-la.org

#2)  Must have already registered for the Convention through Comic-Con.  SILA does NOT sell tickets to this event.  Tickets for the event are sold solely by Comic-Con.

PLEASE make sure you have already purchased tickets from Comic-Con or already have a Professional Pass issued to you by Comic-Con before making the trek to San Diego.

Note: To participate as a volunteer for SILA at Comic Con you need to have already registered and purchased your ticket – or already have your Professional Pass.

1) We will be showing a selection of our members’ artwork on the flatscreen in the booth.  ALL current paid members are eligible. DEADLINE TO SUBMIT JPEG IS TUESDAY JULY 19th. [300 dpi, no less than 1000 pixels on largest side, CMYK]

2) Members who have signed up for 2 hour blocks of time will be permitted to sell items they are directly involved with (art, prints, books, etc.) and hand out professional promotional materials at the booth – space is limited.

3) Wear comfortable clothing and shoes…Conduct yourself in a manner that is respectful of others and yourself.  Good times are key – Professionalism is paramount.
